30 Minutes in the Life | March 2016

"I do not miss childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things, even as greater things crumbled. I could not control the world I was in, could not walk away from things or people or moments that hurt, but I took joy in the things that made me happy."
Neil Gaiman

This month we went looking for frogs. Our neighbour's own a huge forest that borders our land and in it is this beautiful pond which is just full of frogs (and frogspawn) in Spring. The sun was bouncing off the water and the frogs make this beautiful chirping song when they are 'courting'. Ava thought it was fascinating and we plan to go back each week to watch the eggs become tadpoles then teeny tiny frogs. It's fun to watch Spring happen in the countryside, it's like it's amplified. We feel very lucky to live in such a beautiful spot.

(Poppy might have attempted to eat some frogspawn... and a frog or two. She did not succeed.)
