"What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness." -John Steinbeck.
I couldn't think of how I'd find time or the inclination to take this months photos. The month has been thoroughly monopolised by a certain double digit birthday for the most important wee person in my life. So when I popped outside to grab a stack of logs for the fire last Friday, it was below freezing and the whole garden had been iced with frost, I quickly rushed for my camera and captured the fleeting sparkle that covered every surface.
This is November, it isn't my favourite month in fact it's a month of anxiety about driving on ice, money leaving bank accounts faster than it goes in and short dark days but it has it's very own beauty when you look hard enough. It is also the month my daughter came into the world and showed me what a wonderful life this is, she has already given me ten years of absolute joy and a very thankful heart. She's the reason I picked up a camera and began to appreciate this incredible, enlightening world.
